An AKA July to Remember

AKA in July is always a scorcher, for more reasons than just the heat.

Certainly around Blaine and at the National Sports Center, with the NSC’s annual Target USA Cup, the TPC hosting the PGA 3M Open, throw in a little wildfire smoke, and this July was no anomaly.

With over 75 AKA Camps across 11 locations and partnering schools in this July scorcher, I’m happy to report that we’ve made it and all is well at AKA SPORT and at the PARC.

And on top of that July success, AKA and the PARC facilitated some events to remember.

Last Wednesday, AKA had the opportunity to host the PGA Wives Association and AKA scholarship recipients and campers at Victory Links Golf Course. Our morning was filled with mini golf, games, lots of laughter, and a hole in one competition to bring the celebration home.

Thank you to the PGA Wives Association members for bringing the energy and for providing a generous donation to support AKA’s mission, keeping kids active, and providing for kids who would otherwise not have the opportunity.

Donations like these help us continue to provide more kids with opportunities to play, grow, and build confidence through sports. We are incredibly thankful for their support.

In addition to all of that, Melissa coordinated a partnership with the 3M Open, thus opening up the PARC’s doors to PGA TOUR players, spouses, and professional caddies.  Rave reviews abound as these out of towners were able to recover and recharge thanks to our saunas, cold plunge, gym and GatherWell IV therapies.

Such an awesome week to remember, we are happy we could provide a space at the PARC for all to relax from the demanding schedules of tournament week, and from whatever our busy schedules do to our stress levels.

To the PGA TOUR Wives Association, the 3M Open, and everyone who spent time with us this week, thank you for your trust, your generosity, and your kindness. Seeing the missions of AKA SPORT and the PARC come together this week, and throughout this hectic summer, has been something special.

Incredibly grateful, thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support AKA, and now the PARC, for over 22 years.

Looking forward to the many memories to come. Be Well, and enjoy the rest of your Summer!
