UPDATED: COVID-19 Protocol

Please see our detailed plan for COVID-19 Protocol HERE as well as the updates listed below.

In addition to the below update on mask mandates, please review the following protocol regarding testing for COVID-19. This protocol is based on recommendations from the CDC. Please see detailed Decision Tree for determining if and when you should stay home.

  • If your child has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 we ask that they stay home for 14 days.

    • Even if they test negative during this time, please keep them home from AKA programs as symptoms could still develop.

    • If your child tests positive for COVID-19 they will need to remain home until 10 days after their test (if no symptoms) OR at least 10 days from the time their symptoms started and until their symptoms have improved and they have not had a fever for 24 hours (without using fever-reducing medications). Siblings will need to remain home as well.

    • Even if your child has not been directly exposed to COVID-19, but has been tested for any reason (doctors appointment, family precaution, etc), we ask that you keep them home until they receive their test result as an extra measure of precaution.

Due to the Mask Mandate for the State of Minnesota, we have updated our COVID-19 Guidelines for the AKA All Sports Summer Camp 2020 to include AKA School Time Fall, Winter and Spring Program. Please view the updated color coded guidelines and updates from Summer 2020 HERE. The changes to these guidelines include the following:

  • In accordance with the Minnesota Department of Health and Executive Order 20-81 (see below), all people participating in AKASPORT programs - including kids, parents, staff and volunteers - are required to wear face coverings when entering all AKA facilities.

  • All Staff will continue to wear face coverings when inside and keep face coverings with them when outside for use when in close proximity to participants and other staff members. Staff are not required to wear masks while outdoors if they are at least 6 feet from participants and other staff.

  • All Parents entering our buildings will be asked to abide to face coverings while indoors.

  • All Kids will need to wear a face covering when they enter and leave the buildings and throughout times when they are not playing sports/active fitness/games.

    • Minnesota Department of Health Face Covering Requirements and Recommendations under Executive Order 20-81: As of July 25, 2020, per the Governor's Executive Order 20-81, people in Minnesota are required to wear a face covering in all indoor businesses and public indoor spaces, unless alone.  Additionally, workers are required to wear a face covering when working outdoors in situations where social distancing cannot be maintained. Research has shown that use of face coverings can greatly reduce the risk of infection when combined with other prevention efforts such as social distancing and hand hygiene.
